Upgrade X61T from 2GB to 3GB?

#1 Post by LeoB » Mon Mar 17, 2008 3:11 pm

I have an X61 Tablet running XP Tablet Edition. It came with 2GB (1x1) from Lenovo. It runs fairly quickly, but I was wondering if it is worth the effort to upgrade it to 3GB?

I also have a T60 and it has 2.5 GB (512 + 2GB) that I seldom use. According to what I've researched, they use the exact same memory.

I could take the 2 GB stick out of the T60 and swap it with one of the 1 GB sticks in the X61T, bumping the X61 up to 3 GB.

Has anybody seen any significant performance improvement on the X61T running XP Tablet when going from 2GB to 3GB? I am not a heavy graphics or video user on the X61.

Thanks,
Leo

I use 2gb in xp pro and have not really a need to upgrade past 2gb. I dont run a page file either. But I got a deal on 4gb and upgraded to that in xp. Almost no difference for my casual cad use/mathematics programs.
