T42P USB problems

Hey All,
New to the site & desperately after help with my T42P.
Being in UK and having just purchased a T42P # 2373-KTU within the last 10 days from the US, I have a problem already...my USB ports have ceased operating!!!

Of the 2 ports, the upper will illuminate the LED on my USB mouse but nothing more and the lower USB port does nothing whatsoever.

I have been through everything including IBM self diagnostics in the IBM partition and everything checks out ok with a pass. Deleting the USB Root Hubs etc forces WIN XP to rebuild them and says they are working fine but still nothing works!!!

Thinking I am going to be forced to approach IBM UK for warrenty repair or replacement, I am just wondering if anybody has any further suggestions?

Any input would be greatly appreciated
