Optimzed energy consumption of X300

#1 Post by jketzetera » Tue Mar 18, 2008 11:26 am

If I am not mistaken, forum members were able to have their X60s consume about 9 - 10W when tweaking their notebooks (i.e. low screen brightness, CPU frequency minimized etc.), while the X61s came in a few watts higher than that.

Can forum members tell me how low energy consumption wise, they were able to go with their X300 and what settings they were using (i.e. screen brightness, wifi on/off etc.)?

Even better...

When anyone post a response, please indicate which battery optimizer setting you use and what is the wattage of said settings.

Would be nice to compile a table and have a couple of settings like I have on my T42 that I have built i.e. "591MHz" processor at low, brightness 3/7, WLAN/Bluetooth only...

What utility(s) are folks using to measure real time power usage?

Doesn't Power Manager display the power consumption when in battery mode? But I have an x61, so don't know if it's relevant to the x300 or not.

How accurate is the power mete in PM btw? I can idle along at 9 watts with CPU set to low, and screen at 7/15, and that's with a t7500. Turning off WiFi seems to help a bit.

Using the battery stretch feature I see power consumption averaging 7 - 9 watts.

What system are you reporting these values on? X300, x60, x61s...
