Vista SP1 official on an X61s

#1 Post by iamdmc » Wed Mar 19, 2008 1:24 am

I've had the Vista SP1 RC since it came out, and I don't notice any significant improvements since then in the final release of SP1 in terms of read/write performance to USB FDD/USB HDD/SD card.

30MB/s transfer to USB HDD with bursts up to 40MB/s
6-20MB/s transfer to FDD
Very slow transfer to SD card

As for the internet, it seems as fast/slow as before. Still better than Vista without SP1.

Still only 3GB usable on Vista Ultimate x86 (though the full 4GB is recognized)

Conclusion: Good download, free, easy but lengthy install

yes, the 9mm SSD fits in the X220
