The only difference between a 2366 and 2367 is the type of warranty.
Otherwise these machines are identical.
2366 went out to Joe Public.
2367 went out to Corporations/Institutions.

thanks, that would explain why the 2367 isn't listed in a doc meant for joe public.

the info i'm really trying to find is about the display as i have read that some T30s came with a 200 nit display instead of the standard 150 nit. a friend of mine just got a refurbished T30 with 12 month warranty but it is noticeably dimmer than mine. if mine came with a brighter display it would explain this and if not he might want to get his fixed under warranty.

I am not aware of any T30 LCD with 200nit, in the manual only 150nit is mentioned.
There are some models with SXGA+(1400x1050) instead of the more common XGA (1024x768), but I've yet to see one of the SXGA+.

Also, if you get the CCFL backlight tube replaced, it will look much brighter. Search for user Jamiphar in the Market Forum, who does those replacements.

They have come with 150 and 200 nit displays, but that doesn't really mean much nowadays since they're all pushing 5 years and above...

For your reference, good to have, not always 100% accurate, but a lot of valuable info:

yeah, that thinkwiki page is where i saw the 200 nit display.

yes i know that 5 years will take its toll on the backlight but by paying a bit more for a refurbished machine my friend was promised that the display was as good as new. guess i could always pop open the lid on mine and compare part numbers with that wiki page.

The term "refurbished" is by far one of the most abused words in modern English language, IMHO...

What have they promised him when buying a "refurbished" ThinkPad???

A shining machine with a tired backlight??? Please...

The T30 HMM lists specific system types as having 150 nits displays. I guess we are assuming that the models which don't have any explicit nit spec are the ones with 200 since there are two inverter cards with the matching nit spec. Not sure what happens when you replace the CCFL yourself. I don't see any brightness spec for tubes from lcdparts.com, for example. What happens if you use a 200 nit inverter on a 150 nit tube?

i agree that refurbished may as well mean spit-shined when i comes to a lot of places like ebay vendors but then i've never seen any of them offer walk-in service or a 12 month warranty.

anyways, he took it in today and the guys there agreed that the display was too dim. 2 hours later a courier delivered it to his office and now his display is brighter than mine....no charge.
