external mouse connection problem

#1 Post by SUSIEJO » Wed Mar 19, 2008 1:01 pm

I have a 600E that the external mouse connection is not working.
I can plug in an external mouse but it doesn't work. I have tried other mouses that I know work on other pc's but no go on the 600E.
I think I'm going to have to change out the connection, does anyone know how to do it and how hard is it to change out?

Before attempting to replace the PS/2 port, make sure that you have double-checked in your Thinkpad configuration utility that your PS/2 port has not been disabled.

a USB mouse also will work fine if the problem really is the PS/2 connector and it's too much of a hassle to fix.

Yep, I checked the Thinkpad configuration utility and the PS/2 port is set to active.

And thanks for the idea ZAGNUT, I had forgotten about the USB mouses.
