Hidden CPU load with bluetooth off/idle.

#1 Post by blackomegax » Fri Mar 21, 2008 2:32 am

The latest version of RMclock fully supports santa rosa now, but i'm getting strange feedback from it.

In any cpu mode, OS load levels are normal when idle. 0-2%.
but it has a "true" cpu load thats pegged at 80% all the time, UNTIL a bluetooth device is connected and functional. such as a mouse.

When the mouse goes into power saving, cpu internal load is right back to 80%. touch it and the load falls to normal sub 10% levels.

This is both with hardware switch off and on.

CPU temperature is stable 41-43C no matter what at 800mhz.
if i disable the thinkpad bluetooth device with the windows bt config it also does it.

Is this a sign of a flawed driver or bt stack?

/edit/
also see this, also with modern bluetooth.

try the cpu usage hotfix on the lenovo sight. This solved my high cpu ussage issue (not sure if related to bt).

You might also be able to find it thru system update.

that hotfix is an unrelated issue.

Is there any way to physically disable the BT module without removing it? Dells have the option in BIOS, but im not seeing one on my x61s.
