x31 keyboard not laying flat? (Pic)

#1 Post by stalepie » Fri Mar 21, 2008 7:44 am

This is probably just my paranoia, but ever since I installed a wireless card in this Thinkpad I've been convinced that the keyboard is not laying perfectly flat. It seems to be slightly raised towards the bottom. There haven't been any real typing problems, but it sounds slightly clicky when using the spacebar and arrow keys (mouse buttons are fine). Here are some pictures:

Does that look normal? I don't think it's the wireless card now because I just tried taking it out.

Thanks.

MOD EDIT: Picture warning added.

To be honest, from the pictures it looks flat to me.

You can reseat the keyboard to see if that changes the key travel on the specific keys you mentioned.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll just leave it as it is. I can still type on it fine.

Yeah, it's turned out well. At first I thought it was too small, because it does slip through my legs when sitting, but it's quite comfortable to use in bed and can rest on one knee if I'm reading something else, or if I've got it on a table there is room for other stuff. A nice machine, I like it, except I wish I could put a better graphics chip in. (But, why would I buy a Thinkpad for graphics...? Anyway, it does play old games just fine.)
