Power Options on T61p

On the power option, there use to be a setting where you can adjust the brightness of the monitor by sliding a bar. After I updated the computer, I don't see it anymore, is there someway to get it back. The reason is that every time I restart or tun on my computer, the monitor brightness is always max out and it's annoying to have to turn it down every time. The Power options use to have a sliding bar to adjust how bright you want when the computer is plug in or on battery. Is there a way to fix this. Thanks.
