Best T40 internal wireless card?

My T40 has internal B wireless (Intel Pro 2100 3B).

What "G" card could I get to use with minimal fuss as a replacement?

The IBM versions of the Intel 2200BG and 2915ABG cards would meet your requirements and be a straightforward switch.
They work well in the T40.
Look in the marketplace to see if one is for sale.

There are also the Atheros based "IBM A/B/G" cards, which most people prefer.

Be careful with the later T4x internal cards; certainly the ones avaiable when the T43 came out had some issues with the T40 (even after updating to the latest BIOS and drivers). I could never get FnF5 to work with the T43 card in my T40, even though the wireless worked fine.
