Cardbus slot on T61p appears dead?

#1 Post by trancer » Sat Mar 22, 2008 5:41 pm

I can't get my firewire 800 pcmcia card to work in my new T61p. I can get an expresscard to work, but the cardbus slot seems dead...

I have another laptop i can pop it in and I see windows detect it and install the drivers. When I put it in the T61p there's no response at all. The system doesn't even detect it.

I've tried it on fresh installs of XP SP2, and in Device Manager I have Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible CardBus Controller listed under PCMCIA adapters.

Any BIOS options for this? I don't see why it isn't working.

Lol, you had the same problem as my T61....until I found that it was hidden deep deep inside the BIOS and was disabled.

You can search for it in BIOS (inside configuration) or the easiest way I did it was press F9 in Bios to reset to default, then F10 to save and reboot.

I checked the BIOS options and it looked ok, but I loaded the defaults anyway. Still doesn't work.
