Warranty help

#1 Post by Perdu » Sat Mar 22, 2008 8:49 pm

I opted for 3 years of on site warranty, but I've been thinking, as I live in a major US city (Houston), could I not just walk into a certified Lenovo/IBM service center. Am I wasting my money on on site?

Thanks for your opinions.

It depends how much your time is worth. They will come to you at home at work or on the road. I have used the onsite service in New York, Florida, and California.

It is worth it to me.

On-site warranty is also good when you would want your machine to be fixed same day within mere few minutes/hours.

I've seen a technician finishing a system board replacement in just under 30 mins!
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
