vista t60 - no audio

#1 Post by xta » Sun Mar 23, 2008 12:34 am

Hi all,

I wish I could pinpoint a specific time/event that caused this, but I just noticed this a couple days ago. My T60, formatted with vista, used to have working sound, aka it was normal. In the past week, no sounds come out at all.

I've gone through windows update and the lenovo system update, but those patches/updates haven't fixed the situation. Also, my volume hotkeys (next to the blue thinkvantage button) are turned onto max. My windows audio is set to 80% or more, so that shouldn't be an issue.

I would appreciate if someone has been through this recently and has a solution. Or I'm wondering how I would pinpoint where my problem is coming from.

If you plug a set of speakers or headphones into the green jack on the left side do you hear anything?

Whoa, that fixed it. I plugged my stereo line-in into my thinkpad and I was able to output to the speakers. Having unplugged the speakers, the sound is now coming out of my laptop speakers.

It seems like somehow, the output got stuck on the audio connector mode and not my laptop speakers.

Thanks :)
