T60 needs to reboot after hibernation...........why?

#1 Post by salin » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:10 am

My T60, running xp pro, always needs to reboot after I close the lid at night. I don't shut it down at night and I have downloaded all the updates from Lenovo and Microsoft.
It appears I'm missing an update or something. This has been going on for about a month now.
Any suggestions?

2.0GHz, Core 2 Duo T7200, XP Pro, 1GB Memory, 80GB HD.

I'm not sure if this is the problem or not, but what comes to mind is that possibly the power options in the control panel may be set to shut down when the lid is closed instead of standby.
I hope that helps!

I'm having hard time understanding your post, you say your thinkpad needs to reboot after hibernation, my understanding is if it reboots when you close the lid at night then the computer never enters hibernation mode.

I hope you find the solution to your problem from Microsoft:

Windows xp restarts after hibernation.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
