R61i audio driver problem

#1 Post by dc321 » Sun Mar 23, 2008 9:28 am

Hi all,

I'm one of the many r61i users who has uninstalled Vista, installed XP and now can't seem to get all the drivers working.

I saw this problem posted about, in particular here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthr ... 585&page=2

But still can't seem to get it to work... In particular, Step 9 references a directory that I don't have. I've managed to install the modem, but I still have my "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus" with a big question mark. I've downloaded what I thought were the audio drivers from: http://www.driverchina.net/drivers/IBM- ... 2678.shtml

I'd really appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Thanks in advance.

When you extract the driver from the downloaded file, that's where it puts the driver, In C:\Drivers\Win\Audio....

The R61i audio driver is a bit tricky. It has a prerequisite Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) High Definition Audio class driver (Q888111). Read the documentation at the below link carefully. All of this is model dependant as well...yours is?
