Hello all,
I have a WinXP SP1 / Linux Slackware dual booted T40, with the 1.5M Processor and 768MB of ram. This question refers to my problem while in XP.
Often, when I am typing in a text editor (I commonly use VIM for Windows, and therefore notice it there the most), my keystrokes begin being buffered and stop being "real time". The system "recovers" quickest if I stop typing, and then shortly after my keystrokes appear one at a time, perhaps at 2 per second until the buffer is unloaded. I have also seen this behavior in Notepad or while typing into the location window in Firefox, so I know it's not limited to VIM. This behavior may happen every couple of minutes or so, I haven't measured.
I have observed my CPU and memory load with the task manager while this problem is occuring, and I can see nothing unusual.
Anyone heard of this?
thanks,
John
