Dock I vs. Dock II

#1 Post by dyne » Mon Dec 06, 2004 7:02 pm

I know that the Dock II is backwards compatible and can be used with older thinkpads, while the Dock I cannot be used on newer thinkpads because the physical connection has been moved.

What I want to know is if the pinout is of both dock connectors is the same. If so, I'd like to try to buy an older dock for $30-50 on ebay and try modifying it so I can use my T41 with it.

Has anyone tried this?

Because a Dock I costs $50 and a Dock II costs $400
