X21: Compact Flash slot with Sandisk WiFi question

#1 Post by Dabard051 » Wed Mar 26, 2008 4:06 pm

Trying to use my TP X21 Compact Flash slot with a SanDisk combo CF card (128MB CF memory + WiFi; model SDWCFB-128 Connect Plus). I can use all the functions and run wireless just dandy if I use a PCMCIA-to-CF adapter card in the PCMCIA slot, but if I connect the daughter card (the Sandisk CF/WiFi card itself) into the CF slot, the machine doesn't recognize it. Doesn't see the CF memory or connect to wireless.

OS=Win 2000, 256MB ram

Any information on debugging the situation? I tried the lenovo site looking for drivers for the CF slot, but no luck so far...

Thanks,

Have you tried looking for info on the ThinkWiki site? It's mainly for running Linux on ThinkPads, but it may be useful. www.thinkwiki.org

The CF slot seems to interface with the second [missing] PCMCIA port on the X31, as far as the chipset is concerned, so I would have thought that they'd work the same. Maybe there are some missing pin connectors that CF does not use.
