Lenovo outlet good deals on X61 ~$480

#1 Post by bri » Wed Mar 26, 2008 6:48 pm

just a head's up, looks cheap as heck to me:
http://stores.channeladvisor.com/Lenovo ... %20Series/

$484 is the lowest on a refurb X61.
$670 is the lowest on a new X61s.

edit: scratch the 484 it was sold, cheapest now $510.

Wow..unbelievable. Those prices are mockery to us Europeans buying new X61 for 1500 euros. New R61 can be had for less than 400$ too.

Lenovo, thanks so much for these deals. They are causing our Thinkpads to depreciate like hell.

Lenovo cuts the Outlet prices by about 20% every two weeks (I think). The prices just dropped and all the machines are selling out by the second! There were some ThinkPads in the $300 range! Now the $400+ machines are almost gone.

There were some sub-$500 T61's! Buy now, while they are there.

Just the CPU on some of these machines is $200+.

Remember, these are all one-offs.

I know, right... I couldn't pass up a deal on one so I ordered anyway [saw them disappearing by the minute] but I bet I'm going to take a bath in selling my T60.

Heh... if they were sold over here at that price people would be mosty certain they were stolen property, including me. :o
Over here, retail price is about $3200 for a new X61 plus minus up to $200 depending on config.
I second Pianowizard's comment.

Bri, thanks for the heads up for those that can take advantage of this at least.

Well, these one offs won't completely disrupt the used market, they are more of a blip. Deals like these don't happen all that often (maybe once every few months at these low prices) and there aren't many machines available, just a few dozen that sell out within minutes.

After tonight, everything will be back to normal, which is to say, still the best time in computer history for consumers (in the U.S. at least).

Ehehe, they sold pretty quickly. An hour ago the outlet was full of laptops for sale - now there's pretty much nothing.

how do you tell if any of the T61's have Flexview/IPS? If there are any left, I might get one of those

What on earth??? Ed, the 2 examples you've posted make me so insanely jealous that Australia doesn't have such a Lenovo outlet AFAIK. My mind is just boggled.

So THAT's why the eBay marketplace is flooded with cheap T60s!!!

They go for only $450-600 and the T61 for $600-800! And here I was thinking of buying a T4x for $350!
