T30 Max CPU Upgrade

Hello to everyone.

I have a T30 2366-97G with 2.0GHz P4-M and 2GB of RAM.

My question is, what is the fastest CPU for the T30?

IBM sais that 2.4GHz is the max (also 1GB for RAM but eveyone i know and people in this forum that have T30s are running with 2GB )

So is there anyone who has tested any faster CPUs?

I've found a 2.6GHz on ebay a couple of days ago (can remember the S-Spec of it right now) but the FSB and voltage rating where the same as the 2.0GHz-2.4GHz.

I have read on here that the chipset will support the 2.6GHz, but that the fan doesn't do a good enough job at keeping the system cool enough.

Technically the T30 will support up to a 2.6 GHz, which is an SL6WZ. I put a 2.2 GHz in my T30 (SL6VB) and it ran much hotter than the 2.0 I have previously. There are also a 2.4 (SL6VC) and a 2.5 (SL6P2) available.

There is an upgraded fan assembly that came on some higher end T30s, which would be a good investment if you run a faster processor. I was running the original fan from my 1.6 GHz on that 2.2 which wasn't cutting it at all.

Ok, got a SL6WZ and man can you see a difference!
Also i got a fan from another T30 that was running the 2.4GHz CPU and doesn't seem to have anu issues yet.
