Z60t will not run while AC adapter is connected
Z60t will not run while AC adapter is connected
Please help,
This problem began occurring out of the blue, today when booting my machine and like most other times i had the AC adapter plugged into the wall and into my machine and after being on for appox. 2 min. the machine just shutdown. i have had it connected many different ways to try to determine the problem and i think i have narrowed it down to something doing with it being connected, it boots fine from a battery, even after booting from the battery and try to connected it it still shutsdown.
thanks for any and all help yall can give me,
tommy

There's a couple of threads popping up here with related symptoms apparently tied into the latest Power Management Driver update and/or ATI driver update. Try uninstalling them as a test, reboot, then see what happens. Uninstall them one at a time, testing in between. Report findings back here please.
What are the CPU and GPU temps? Depending on the PM settings, the CPU may run faster while plugged in and generate more heat. This may be heat related. There are several utilities to look at temps. TPFANCONTROL is one of them. Try a forum search for details. You did not mention the ATI driver...did you try uninstalling it? It is safe to do so, Windows will just substitute a generic driver. Just make sure to reboot after deleting it.
it definitely seems to be a heat problem, when connecting the ac adapter the cpu temp shoots to 101 from 80 not connected. What is the GPU, its temp sits at 0 connected or not? what is the ATI driver? knowing this what are my options? is this a hardware issue, do i need to replace something on the mobo or...?? thanks very much for your help.
