Thinkpad R52 Series

Hi.

My laptop works fine with AC output , but once on battery it hangs abruptly and i need to reboot with the ac power attached.If i try logging in on battery power it hangs.
Help to resolve this would be highly appreciated.

Is it an original IBM battery or some 3rd party oem battery?

Also, how old is the battery, have you tried resetting it?

Its a 3 year old IBM laptop.Original One.Should i reset my battery to give a try

Yep, you should, use the Battery Maximiser or ThinkVantage Power Manager for this purpose.
