T42p wobbles in Dock II

#1 Post by troth » Tue Dec 07, 2004 7:17 pm

I have a T42p that I usually keep in a Dock II without the battery. Unfortunately, the computer can then rock back and forth a bit from the left-front to the right-rear since there appears to be nothing for the right-rear of the computer to rest on. The computer is definitely locked into place since I have to use the release mechanism to remove it from the dock.

It's a bit disconcerting since it feels like I'm stressing the dock connector every time it rocks.

So, is this common? Is it something to fret over? Is there anything that can be done other than installing the battery (which I'm not sure completely eliminates the problem)?

The fit is not perfect in my port rep either. I really think it's just design tolerance, and I just try to not move the laptop around a lot without moving the dock as well.
