I've been looking for a while for memory to upgrade mine but just don't have the cash right now. I found this deal and thought some of you might be interested, 1GB of pc2700 for $169.95:

What kind of memory do I need for a T42p Model# 2373GRU...
Also whats that site that sells the specific memory & guarantees it?

that will work on yours... company name you are looking for is Crucial...

I know Brand Name does matter so I wonder if that ram is any good...

Yeah if you browse the crucial website, what type do i have? Im confused which one I should select..

The ram in the listing will work in the t4* series. It is backwards compatible with pc2100 which is what the t40 used. Now in regards to the brand, it's true that brand is important for memory but this is a [censored] good price and I have used this memory brand in a desktop for 3 years with no problems. Samsung is a good brand, but this is your call.

Wow this looks like a great deal, thanks, but the guy's negative feedbacks look scary. Thoughts?

Also, what sort of gain do you all see going from 1gb to 2gb? I do a lot of image work and do sometimes play games on it.

I've also noticed a few people that I checked in the "Purchases" list hasn't left him positive feedback yet... ie. they haven't received the goods yet.

The guy seems legit enough and all, but I'd be very careful.

well, there is some negative feedback, but he is a volume seller and has a 98% positive rating... not bad...

Yeah, 10,000+ customers ... wow. Speaks for itself. Double-edged sword though. Big=not a thief but also potentially difficult fixing problems, if he's working on a shoestring budget and overcommitted.

I think I'm gonna snap one of these up, just for yuks. I want 2gb of RAM in my T42p! I just priced it at Crucial yesterday, was $340!
