x40 memory upgrade question

#1 Post by taile » Wed Apr 02, 2008 9:44 am

I want to upgrade my x40 from 512mb to 1gb. I checked the kingston website, find out there is two types of memory, one is System Specific Memory and another is standard. I want to know if the x40 accepts standard model or I have to go with the System Specific Memory. My x40 model is 2371-GHU.

Thanks a lot!

I'd steer clear of generic or 'value series' Kingston RAM for a Thinkpad. How much is Kingston charging for a 1GB stick of Thinkpad specific PC2700?

That sounds like a good price. If Kingston guarantees it runs in your X40 machine, it's a no brainer.

Well, I thought you were asking for normal price for a 1gb pc2700 ddr memory, the one on the kingston website for x40 is about $120! :x
