press power button to suspend doesn't work

Is anyone else having this problem? I set the power button to put the system to standby but it doesn't work. If I set it to standby by closing the lid, it works fine. However, setting the power button to standby doesn't work.

Are there any fixes for this?

think i solved the problem - just had to press the button in harder. Also suspend speed seems pretty slow. Is there any way to decrease it?
