X61T Hibernation BUG

#1 Post by adiflorescu » Thu Apr 03, 2008 4:03 pm

Hi all!
I have a X61 Tablet, model nr.7767 BFG with Vista Business Ultimate.
I have the preinstalled applications minus Norton antivirus.
I have thinkvantage up to date and BIOS settings in DEFAULT.
Hibernation works well. The problem is when I wake up the computer FROM hibernation! The applications becomes irresponsive. Al I've got is a hourglass spinning on my desktop area and a program window with "Not responding" on top of the application window.
The strangest thing is that Task Manager cease to show on desktop area! Is active only in the tray zone as icon!
I must shut down the PC and restart.
I saw a lot of folks with the same problem, mainly on T series. I think the solution might be the same. But the solutions seems to be digged in the internet somwhere!
A second problem is that i cannot put the PC in SLEEP mode. When I try, I get the Start Welcome screen with no suspend.
I have MS Office 2003 (Outlook only).
The OS was restored from the original hidden partition using Thinkvantage Recovery (tryied to install XP but no good drivers for tablet... so back to the original OS)
No response from Lenovo. Very dissapointed!
Thanks,
Adrian

Your problem is Intel Turbo Memory, sorry I've no advise for you other than to make sure you've the following drivers installed:

Intel Turbo Memory Driver for Windows Vista - ThinkPad Reserve Edition, R61, T61, X61, X61s, X61 Tablet, X300 (Read the installation instructions very carefully)

Users on this forum reported that having clean install of Windows Vista solves such issues with Turbo Memory, you may try that if the drivers don't make any difference.

As far as Windows XP is concerned, it doesn't have support for tablet features, that is the reason you didn't find any drivers, on the other hand Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 is the one you should've looked for (N.B. This edition was never released as a retail version i.e. was sold only as OEM through vendors and computer manufacturers, you'll find it from lenovo in case you plan on downgrading.)
