T43 - 1802 Error - Has there been a work around developed?

#1 Post by baisley » Thu Apr 03, 2008 7:44 pm

Hello everyone,

I have a few T43's that I am building and tried to run the infamous no-1802com, to no avail. I see that there has been a change to the T43 forward that prevents it use.

Worst case, I will have to buy a fru'd wireless card for these units. I had a handful of BG2200 that I was going to us, but looks like that may be dashed.

I have seen some started efforts and discussions.. was there a solution?

Thanks Everyone

There's a related thread for T60. The guy mods the bios, putting stuff into the approved list I think.

Also there's idchanger, that changes the id of the card.

The T43 and later replaced the chip where the switch was set with a more-sophisticated one and the little program that would set the switch no longer worked. At one point, I thought about trying to write a replacement, it has never been the right day to start. The quick answer is that it doesn't work any more.

I'm the person from the related thread. I'm not modifying the list of cards itself, but the function which actually compares card ID against the list. I have done the modification for T43 too, PM'ed OP.
