T40 - What would you do??

#1 Post by lynnja » Fri Apr 04, 2008 12:47 am

I bought a T40 online for $300 plus $40 shipping. 1.6/512/wifi. The ethernet did not work and one time the system could not find the hard drive , along with a super loose connection to AC adapter.

I sent it back for repair and the owner said it was a wierd mother board prob and would cost too much to repair--so he refunded my money.

I was thinking of asking him to offer it back to me a lower price. I can always use a usb ethernet... and wireless worked good. Or should I just start over looking for another t30 or t40??

My humble opinion is that you should just go ahead and look for a different machine. Even if you use a USB network card, the hard drive could be dying and the AC problem may get worse. You shouldn't have any problem finding a T40-T42 machine for that price.

Keep looking. There are better deals than that.
