Outputting 1920x1080 on a R50 through VGA?

#1 Post by AndyKH » Fri Apr 04, 2008 6:38 am

Hi

I'm thinking of buying a full HD TV in a couple of months, and I would like to connect my trusty old R50 once in a while. I remember editing a .inf file a long time ago to get my Geforce3 card to output PAL/NTSC resolution with a refresh rate. However when I click on the "list modes" on the adapter pane in the properties the highest resolution listed is 1280x1024. I suspect it could be caused by me having a 1280x1024 screen connected, but I'm not sure.

So: what is the maximum possible resolution on a Radeon mobility 7500 equipped R50, and how do I enable custom resolutions and refresh rates (if this is needed to output 1920x1080 @ 50 Hz)?

Thanks in advance

When you connect your TV you should see all resolution supported by this TV. You also can try PowerStrip.

I think you need XP MCE to get all the resolutions. I tried to get 1366x768 via a DVI-HDMI cable. All I could get was 1280x720 using a monitor driver for a Viewsonic HDTV. Hardware is an A31p and a port replicator.
