A good experience with Lenovo support

#1 Post by fuscob » Fri Apr 04, 2008 10:07 pm

I have an X60 Tablet (formerly BillMorrow's; we traded MV/MT XGA for SXGA+) which very recently developed the dreaded whining noise. Mine was quite obtrusive (especially since I use it in quiet environments) and it had never done it at all in the past, so I thought I might send it to EZServ. I got it back in a matter of two days and the problem was still there, despite their replacement of the motherboard and wireless card.

So I sent it in again, making sure to note that it was the same problem. After two weeks this time, I got it back having had a variety of other parts replaced. The problem was still there. I decided to e-mail Sam Palmisano.

I got a response within 24 hours from a very courteous representative who immediately (without any prompting) offered a complete replacement of my machine with a brand new unit. She even offered a switch to a different machine (T, regular X, etc) if that is what I desired.

Happily, the new machine has excellent specs (perhaps better than those of the 6366-8KU it replaces): L7500(1.6GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD Touchscreen, Intel X3100, Intel 802.11agn, Cingular WWAN, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, Secure chip, X6 UltraBase+CDRW/DVDRW, Fingerprint reader, 8c Li-Ion, WinVista Ultimate.

I was told this morning that it would be shipped out ASAP, and I should anticipate its arrival within 10-15 days. I will update this post when I receive it.

Just wanted to relate a good experience with Lenovo's service since it's something you don't see that often...people generally only post when they're angry about bad service, not happy with a great experience. :D
