Keyboad reaction problems

#1 Post by Shade » Sat Apr 05, 2008 3:42 pm

Why is it that I am able to press Ctrl + Alt + Del at the same time but I'm not able to press Up arrow + Down arrow + Space at the same time when I am playing a driving game.

I've experienced this in alot of game I've played on my thinkpad.

If I'm playing a driving game and drive around a corner witv up arow and left arrow pressed and I decide to hit the brake at the same time my laptop sais "BEEEP" and it doesn't react when I press space. If you stop pressing one of the arrows and try to hit space again.. then it reacts.

If i try to do it now, it doesn't sais beep nor refuses to react.. Seems like this only happens when I'm playing a game.

Anyone...?

I've had this problem with every computer I've ever used, as far back as playing 'Test Drive 2: The Duel' in DOS in 8 colors.

Depends on the keyboard. I discovered a long time ago that different keyboards have different combinations of keys that would "jam". Laptop keyboard (Thinkpad among them) are among the worst.
