Hi,
I had to reinstall winxp prof. due to boot failure after using partitionmagic.
anyways. I installed XP and also thinkpad drivers that i had backed-up before venturing with partition magic.
The following are, according to my guess, the only directories under the IBMTOOLS/DRIVERS directory that originally came with the notebook THAT pertain to wireless--if anything else should be there, ps let me know.
1. WLANCX2
2. WLLANATH
3. WLLANCSC
4. WLLANINT
I ran the setup program in each of these and rebooted the notebook as directed. But the whole "wireless package" right now is not as effective as the one that originally came with it. by package i mean the interface to configuring wireless networks, the way available access points are shown etc.. and also the connection gets severed very often- it never used to get disconnected earlier.
I now have the following quesitions:-
1. is it really necessary to install wireless drivers in XP Prof?
2. if so is there any sequence in which i should have run the setup programs in the above directories?
3. Am i missing any other driver??
Im am aware of http://www.tpdrivers.com, but what came with the original install should make the notebook work as earlier, right?
Ps give your suggestion/advice.
It will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
