UJDA755 combo drive firmware

#1 Post by guest2183 » Wed Dec 08, 2004 1:29 am

Hi anybody know where i can get an update for my combo drive?
It is recognizing a lot of my 52X CDs as 8X only. Perhaps a firmware update may fix the problem

Any help?

I did download the file but says my CD/DVD is not connected when I run it. I have no problem running nero writing and reading to the combo drive so i am assuming it needs some parameters. Anybody with same problem?

Not sure how to help you....not sure about this firmware to be honest....you trying to flash it in Windows or does it say you have to boot into "true" DOS?

Use this link:

I would NOT recommend using firmware from "outside" of IBM.

This is the firmware updates for combo drives. There are many disks because the software needs to analyze what kind of drive you have, and apply the "right" patch. (Really, you only need one of the diskettes...but you won't know which one initially...

Might want to start with disk one, see which disk it wants next, then just download and create that one.
