I can't activate touchpad (ultranav) in IBM T42

#1 Post by Kumar » Wed Apr 09, 2008 4:24 pm

Hi
I am new member in this forum. I am having difficulty in activating touchpad. I got this IBM T42 with out hard drive from my friend .He is not having rescue cd. So I installed new hard drive. Installed regular Windows XP Pro, Down loaded all drivers from IBM web site and configared all add ons. When i am installing UltraNav wizard It is saying " activate touchpad in the bios."
So i entered in to bios setup by pressing IBM Access key then F1. And selected configaration teb in setup screen from there mouse tab.
There i can only find PS2 mouse Tab.There is no touchpad Tab. Where as in my wife's Ibm T42 Touchpad tab also there. Bios Ver is same in both systems. Her touchpad is working.
So can some one please help me in setting up touchpad in my T42. My mouse ( the little red button) is working and every thing else is working. Sorry my english is not good.

Have you tried pulling off the keyboard and looking to see if the wires to the touchpad are connected. If it is, try updating the bios.

Look in the BIOS and make sure it isn't turned off. (under config\keyboard-mouse)
