Hibernation in X61s and Network issues

#1 Post by mcmanaman » Fri Apr 11, 2008 4:47 am

I discovered this today:

When your X61s goes into hibernation and then back to windows the network card is turned off, you'll have to disable it and then enable it to make it work again.
Is there any patch or fix for this problem??

There are two types of network cards, LAN and WLAN, you don't mention any specific one.

Anyway, don't allow your machine to turn off the card for power saving purpose:

My Computer > Right Click Properties > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Right click Properties on the network > Power Management > uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Also, look into the following:

Deep Smart Power Down issue.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
