Can I install a SIM card slot into my T60p 2623DDU?

#1 Post by EricRC » Fri Apr 11, 2008 9:46 pm

Hi,
Anyone here that owns a T60p 2623DDU could tell me is that possible for me to install a SIM card slot into the laptop?
The laptop integrated an MC5720 Verizon card only, it doesn't come with a SIM card slot. Does the laptop have a reserved placed for me to install the SIM card slot?
Since I'm planing to upgrade my 5720 to an MC8775,and it requires a SIM card slot installed.
Thanks :D

Yep, it is certainly possible to install a Sim Card Slot module - you require FRU: 41W1353. Check the HMM on how to install.

(From memory) If you do not have a Sim Card Slot module currently installed, the location will be blanked off with a piece of foam roughly shaped in the form of the Sim Card slot module. Remove it (it is usually stuck down with sticky tape), a small screw secures the Sim Card Slot module into a dedicated position and the connector from the module plugs into the motherboard. :)
