is it possible to upgrade a T23 with a mini PCI wlan card?

My friend has a T23 2647 8RG and wants wlan connection to it. Is it possible to buy and upgrade with an IBM system service part 91P7661 mini pci card and get it working that way?!

or does he have to buy a pcmcia card to get this done?
