ATI Mobility 9000 Driver Download?

#1 Post by Lookee » Sat Apr 12, 2008 9:28 pm

Hi,

Sorry, I know this problem has been addressed many times before but I was wondering if anyone give me a direct link to a ATI Mobility 9000 driver for vista 32bit? or can anyone please send me the necessary inf file? Just installed vista on my t40 (1.5GHz/2GB Ram/Radeon 7500) and am having the usual troubles + I can't find driver files.

Unfortunately my vista business edition did not come with any ATI drivers, it actually only came with a couple of Intel drivers so I can't do what everyone else seems to be doing :(

I installed the most recent XP driver for the 7500 which installed fine but just realised I still have no 3D. Does the 9000 driver give me 3D?

Thanks

Vista comes with all the ATI drivers from the 7500 to 9600. So something isn't write there. You wont get drivers for the 9000 or 7500 in Vista as they are not supported. The 9600 is the lowest supported card in Vista.

You wont get the AERO interface with anything lower than the 9600.

I've actually read about a few people's experiences of the ATI drivers not showing up on Vista Business so I know I'm not alone there - I got my copy through the MSDNAA, Microsoft gives students free software to University students studying in a couple of fields. Just thought I'd mention that so people don't assume I have a pirate copy installed. I don't know whether that has anything to do with no ATI drivers at all being present?

I just want the inf file or a link to one of the drivers that everybody is using to run vista on a TP. I don't care about areo, I just want to play dvds :)

Just a side thought, if I got a friend's vista install disk and searched that for drivers, would vista detect the drivers on there or are they all bundled up within the install files??

With Vista Ultimate on my T40, i could use the 7500 driver.

My screen was doubled up, but i went to settings, and set the monitor frequency from 43Hz to 60Hz, then it was fine, and my prestations index went up :) (from 1 to 1.9 or so)

Ever get this sorted out? I'm trying to do the same thing. With my Lenovo OEM version of Vista Business, there are no ATI drivers listed. I updated to SP1 and there's still nothing there - need the Radeon 7500 ot 9000 driver.

I figured out how to get the ATI drivers from Vista. When you update the driver you must uncheck "compatible hardware only" and then the ATI 7500 and 9000 series drivers are available.
