Thanks. I guess it's a little smaller than the 1400. The 1400 is heavy and bulky like 390X.

I like the size of 600X.

I saw 1300 on ebay for $90 shipped. Just need OS. That's why i asked.

Windows XP

#5 Post by furiousmonkey » Fri May 16, 2008 7:14 am

I HAD windows xp installed on my 1300i it took it no problem with the 320mb of ram. The only thing I found really iritating was, the internal wireless internet worked awesome, until I did some XP updates and then it just stopped, I have not got it work after that. It does not work with windows 2000, either. I just added a PCMCIA Network adapter to mine.

Other than that, no problems at all, just dont try to do a lot of heavy graphics, like Corel 12 and photoshop, its a bit slow!

I have many i1300's running XP with 128mb ram. It is not as fast as 98se but no slower than 2kPro. Mine have no networking installed onboard except Modem. Using Lynksys cards right now. They are being donated to a youth camp for general surfing and letter writing.

Well, I bought it for $99 shipped complete with 192MB RAM. It is a bit smaller than the 1400i. I like it. Installed XP just fine. Streaming is a bit sluggish. Maybe with more ram it would be smoother.

Did you install the 256MB Lo Density Ram plus on board 64MB to equal 320MB? I think I will look for cheap one on ebay.

I just sort of winged it with the ram, I must of had lo density, but honestly I just had some ram kicking around so I put it in.

Ebay is the best place for that sort of thing.

Good luck
