ggu has centrino (w/ intel's 802.11b)
geu has ibm's a/b/g

the difference is minimal (battery consumption, connection quality, etc.). i guess it depends on which company you like better. personally, i'd go with ibm's card. centrino isn't really all that exciting, and some people have had connecting issues with intel's first 802.11b. right now i'm playing with the 2200bg.. hopefully that is better.

Yes - but not much. These days you will almost never find 802.11a in a public place and when it is installed in a home or business, the range is a problem and the BW is no better than 802.11g. It does have less problems with interference - but it really has not caught on yet.

Yes, the IBM a/b/g (with Atheros chipset) is far the best (IMO). It has very good reception. Go for the 2373GEU model.
