For TP users that use TPs in work and personal life, are you treated differently by the service organization based on if your a person or a corporation?

New R61e and 4GB of RAM - bad to worse

#1 Post by mymonstor » Fri Apr 18, 2008 8:42 pm

I cleared the contents to sum it up.
2/29 - Purchased R613 7649
3/17 - installed 4GB RAM and started testing - persistent failures
3/24 - machine at depot for repair because won't run with 4GB
4/2 - machine at depot AGAIN for repair because won't run with 4GB
4/25 - After hours of phone calls, e-mails, and opening a case with SDED I am told they could not fix it and will arrange a replacment and it will probably take up to a month to get the replacement.

Is this a joke? Has anyone ever seen something like this where IBM takes this long to diagnose and replace a laptop? 1 month of repair and 1 month to replace?

there's a recall for that.

Apparently it's for systems with the nVidia 570m that has problems with 2 x 2GB DIMMs.

That page says it's a T61P thing but put some pressure there too that they'll see the problem in other lines.
Current - Thinkpad T410si - Core i3 330m, 4GB, 250GB 5400RPM, WXGA+, FPR, BT, Camera, DVDRW, Gobi2000, Win7 Pro x32
