Funky optical drive issue

Was curious if anyone has ever experienced this. I've got a Z60t with a CD/RW DVD-ROM drive. It just started opening itself all the time. It wouldn't stay shut. Quite annoying. I've got an extended warranty and contacted Lenovo who just shipped a replacement out no questions asked. I assume they've had this problem before, otherwise they'd do some troubleshooting.

New drive works fine.

Maybe there was something lodged in the emergency open hole.
