turbo memory + sleep (or hibernate) != bsod
update: i tried removing the turbo memory console, and im still getting the bsod, so ill do some more research to try to figure this out.
ok, so im almost certain that the cause has something to do with turbo memory.
everytime i sleep or hibernate with turbo memory installed, it either just reboots when i turn it back on or i get a bsod (blue screen of death). i've completely uninstalled turbo memory and sleep now works, but hibernate does not.
on a possibly unrelated note, i could never get readydrive to work, which was the main thing i wanted turbo memory for (i have 4gb of memory, so readyboost isnt all that necessary). i've tried reinstalling with lenovo's turbodrive drivers as well as with intels turbomemory drivers, neither work, and the install likes to fail, but with enough tries, it will install, and i still get the same results.
any advice or comments would be helpful.
im running vista sp1, dual booting with ubuntu (which i just have to play with because i cant live without onenote). it's an x61t version 7764cto.
thanks,
Ryan

This sounds very similar to the problem I'm having. You may want to check out this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=184059
I get a BSOD on restart (NMI:Parity Error) if I hibernate and close the lid at the time when it starts hibernating (i.e. before the low-res 'hibernation in process' screen appears).
Similarly, the system reboots if I stand-by and close the lid just before it starts going into standby.
(I have 'close lid' as "do nothing")
You may want to try shutting the screen as soon as you press Fn-F12, and also hibernating without shutting the screen, to see if it is that problem.

Might be interesting to know what the BSOD says regarding errors. I too had Turbo Memory in my T61 and until recently it worked flawlessly. With SP1 I started to get BSOD all pointing to "ianvstor.sys". Reinstalled drivers but still had the same problem. Finally I openned up the laptop and removed the Turbo Memory module and no more BSOD. (Also removed any related software supporting it) This issue is also addressed at:

As far as my system is concerned I cannot even tell I took out Turbo Memory. If anything it seems slightly more responsive, shuts down faster and loads faster -- go figure!

No problems with TurboMemory and Vista SP1 installed regarding sleep/hibernate.gblittle wrote:Might be interesting to know what the BSOD says regarding errors. I too had Turbo Memory in my T61 and until recently it worked flawlessly. With SP1 I started to get BSOD all pointing to "ianvstor.sys".

well, i finally just decided to reformat, after all the time i spent looking into the bsod, i figured it would be quicker to just reformat. i had been meaning to do that to get rid of some of the lenovo software and clean things up anyways, plus i put vista 64 on it so now all 4gb of ram are used.
it was a bit of fun to figure out how to install vista without a cd drive, especially when the first one failed AFTER it had formatted my drive
but everything (including turbo memory) is working fine now under vista 64.
