dead pixel

#1 Post by yenkeeee » Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:55 pm

Does anybody know IBM's policy on dead pixel? I have one dead pixel on my t42. I bought through ebay, but it does come with the 1 year warranty. Thanks

Depends on your screen size and I believe resolution but usually about 8-12 dead or stuck pixles for replacement

I have a deapixal on my screen too, as it's not noticible in most cases, considerng all the trouble and wait for sending it back, I decided to live with it, but if this is not your case, and your purchase of the laptop is within last 30 days, make sure you send it back for replacement on time, cos after 30 days, IBM asks for at least 8 dead pixals for replacement on 14.1"
I called them up, and read here:

hope that helps

That doesn't apply to yenkeeee because he/she bought it on ebay. The 30 day return policy only applies to notebooks bought from IBM directly.

Edit: I'm only half kidding, by the way. See this thread: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=6120

yankeeee, if you bought your laptop throught an IBM business partner(I believe some IBM business partners do sell on ebay), you can contact your retailer, and return your laptop to them, let them deal with IBM.
