WTB: T60P w/ 15" UXGA Flexview

#1 Post by swedevb » Wed Apr 23, 2008 5:26 pm

Son's heading off to college & is looking for a computer in excellent condition w/ UXGA Flexview display. Prefer minimum one year left on warranty.

Thanks, Swedevb

T60p's w/UXGA are quite rare these days... but there is one shortly coming up on eBay - this one - has almost one year warranty left, but the seller is brand new at eBay... feedback score = 0 :? Alternatively, there is this one - with a bit more than one year warranty left. NB: Ask seller(s) about the (in)famous "dust spec" inside the LCD? See e.g. this thread or Serach this forum for "dust lcd".

Expect to pay $1100-1200 for an used UXGA T60p, see e.g. this recently ended auction.

all three of my former IPS-UXGA-panel-equipped thinkpads fell victim to the dust issue.   it's a nuisance if it's your only working screen.

if you can't find an IPS T60p then i would consider buying a proper external display, an advanced mini dock, and either a T60p or T61p to drive the display over DVI.   comparing a 200 nit 500:1 6-bit 45% NTSC gamut IPS notebook display to a 320 nit 1200:1 8-bit 92% NTSC gamut IPS or PVA display is seriously apples and oranges.   as a professional graphic and industrial designer, i'll take an external display any day. ;)

good luck!
