#1 Post by lemmerdeur » Thu Apr 24, 2008 1:46 pm

I have a T30 with a 80gb HDD and a lot of program on it With windows XP. How could I transfer that HDD to a T42 and have all the T42 IBM tools?

Take an image of the T30 disk.
Then uninstall all the IBM utilities and drivers (don't forget the gfx driver).
If you now restart your T30, it should run in basic mode (like Safe Mode).
Put it in your T42 and see if it boots. If yes, install all T42 IBM programs and drivers.

go to http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/do ... trueimage/ and download the trial version, or better still, buy it.
An extremely valuable tool, that will save your bacon many times over!
