Despite that, the T30 battery works in the T20 series - I'm using one in a T23 which uses the same batteries as all the rest of the T20 series and this T30 battery is an almost perfect fit.

The foot is a bit different so it sits maybe half a millimeter or so higher, but the capacity boost was worth it.

They're also more easily available and tend to go for less on ebay because no-one liked the T30 - heh :)

Thanks, will get a T30 battery then... since it is a 44Ah battery compared to the T21 36Ah and should give more mileage......

Yes, my T21 is currently using a T30 battery. You can use T30 batteries in any T2x model, BUT you can't use a T2x battery in a T30. The T30 battery has a notch cut out of it to fit into the T30, around a nub. This just leaves an opening in a T2x, since the T2x doesn't have the nub. There is no ill effect of this opening, because no parts are being exposed...

EDIT: I lied...My T21 isn't using a T30 battery anymore. I just flipped it over, so that I could take a picture, then I remembered that I just sold the battery with a T23, because the T2x battery that I am using now has only 32 cycles...

If you really need a picture of a T30 battery in a T23, then I can provide one. It does fit, it's just that it leaves a small "hole" at one corner of the battery. Doesn't really present any problems though. Since the T30 battery has a higher amp-hour rating (4.4 IIRC) than the standard T2x battery (4.0), it should, in theory, last a little bit longer. However, you can now get T2x batteries that are also rated 4.4Ah, either new ones or "refilled" ones.

(edit: Ah, crap! Just like tfflivemb2, I don't have the T30 battery here at home. I think the daughter in L.A. might be using it...)

Since the foot of the T30 battery its a bit higher....will it affect the balanced of the laptop while on flat surface?

Good question... I don't recall the laptop "rocking" on the table when I had the T30 battery in one of my T23s. It's possible that on a very flat surface you may find it wobbles; I generally use the systems in a port replicator or on the dining room table which has a cloth on it. YMMV.

No, the laptop doesn't rock using a T30 battery in a T20 that I have. (Well, it DOES rock, but in other ways! )

The T30 battery has 2 bumps on it's right side (Viewed from the bottom of the lappy), but they do not project out as much as the rubber foot on the battery. Both rubber feet seem to project the same amount.

I cannot pull a slip of paper from under either rubber foot when the T20 is sitting on a flat surface. The edges of my battery are perfectly smooth with the bottom case of the T20 (Excepting the edges of the two bumps on the right.) Even the slightly beveled front edge of the battery mates perfectly with the T20.

I have been running a T30 battery in a T20 for 6 months now, (I purchased it this way.) with not a problem one.
