service parts (t43)

hi, where can i get service parts for my book? Im particulary interested in battery locks, my t43 from bed this morning (30cm maybe) and one of locks broke.
Maybe someone on forum have some spare parts?

You can scan the marketplace here or check the Lenovo web site for service parts, you can pretty much get any part *fru* (field replaceable unit) or accessories from there at premium cost. Of course there are many other places too all over the internet, ebay, craigslist, etc.

The battery lock is one of those parts that might require replacement of the entire bottom (?)

Which lock? One is spring-loaded and one is not.

A very useful place for you to know could be the T43 User's guides and manuals site. If your T43 is a 2668-CTO (which your thread Warrany use (advice needed) could seem to indicate (?), then you may get the Hardware Maintenance Manual (July 2005) - ThinkPad T43/p (covering T43's of the types 2668, 2669, 2678, 2679, 2686 and 2687) which you now know exist! Everything is there - but you may also have a look in the IBM online resource: System service parts - ThinkPad T43, T43p and find out where parts can be ordered through the Service parts ordering for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Perhaps there is also a maintenance and replacement parts online ordering link at the IBM Slovensko site - but unfortunately, I can't read it...

Alternatively, check http://www.ebay.com/ and http://www.ebay.de/ or http://www.ebay.co.uk/ Regardsless of where you order, remember to ask about shipping costs!

If you can be a little more specific about which exact part you want, then you can put up a "WTB" (Want To Buy) advertisement at the Marketplace on this forum - but be specific! If everything else fails, and you need local support, you could consider PM'ing forum.thinkpads.com member jamess who is in your region (jamess is in Ljubljana, Slovenia).
