Which computer? How did you connect it? Need more info. Unless your TV has an RGB computer input, it appears a VGA to TV (Composite/S-Video/Component) converter box is required on the T6x series.

My computer is X61 Tablet. I just use VGA cable connecting between PC and TV. It works with my Dell and Toshiba old laptop.Thanks.
Unfortunately, TV output doesn't appear to be supported from the current thinkpads. I had to get a VGA to TV converter box to do this with my T61p:

Well, if you search the threads on this forum, you'll find that the T61 series doesn't support TV out through VGA. I don't think it's a PAL/NTSC issue. Your video (DVI?) to HDMI may be possible as this is all digital but for analog Composite/S-Video/Component, I think you may be out of luck. I'm not sure you got sound out of your video connection (or were you using the headphone output from your thinkpad)?

I think what sktn77a is trying to say is that analog is not supported via the VGA port. So, if your TV accepts a digital signal, then no problem, it will work. But if your TV requires an analog signal (either via VGA, s-video, or component) then it will not work, and you will need to purchase a digital-to-analog converter. Older thinkpads used to send both analog and digital signal over the VGA port, but not the 6x series.fongj wrote:I'v output from the VGA on my X61t to a HD LCD TV without problems.
sktn77a, why/how isn't outputting to a TV isn't supported? Is it a NTSC vs. PAL issue?

VGA is an analog signal by design/specification. It is analog coming out the VGA port on the Thinkpad.efrant wrote:I think what sktn77a is trying to say is that analog is not supported via the VGA port. I'm not sure why we're talking about "TV out". Since roudan just wants to use the VGA output, there is no "TV out" (s-video, or otherwise) that comes into play. This is is just like any other VGA output to an external monitor or LCD/DLP projector, except the destination happens to be an HD TV.
roudan, what exactly are you trying to show on the TV? Is it just your desktop? a Powerpoint presentation? or is there some sort of video/movie? The fact that the TV turns off means its not getting any signal at all. Do you have it looking for the right input?
Also, I just noticed this is the T6x forum when the OP is having this issue with his X61t.... (I have both, so I didn't catch that earlier...). Any quick/easy way to tell Moderator to move this thread?
Moved to X6x conference.

Thanks for moving to X6X. Sorry about that.
